June 16: returned home from Africa
July 2: formally launched Project Bed: Turning My Thoughts Into Actions
August 2 (pending): successfully completed Project Bed
When I launched Project Bed, I had no idea how it would be received. It was simple: I felt led to share my thoughts and see where they would lead. And thankfully, they led to amazing happenings.
A few details that I could have never planned: (1) When my aunt purchased a sheet set, it blossomed into her daughter (my newly married cousin) and daughter-in-law (also, my cousin, slipping me money after the wedding) donating as well. (2) A friend that recently moved out of town donated via PayPal and so did her friend that I’ve met only a handful of times. We randomly (as in, has never happened before and was completely spontaneous) got together at Starbuck’s on my birthday, and I was able to share about “the boys” and thank these two lovelies in person for getting involved. (3) A sweet woman I used to babysit for and haven’t seen in more than 20 years felt led to give a generous donation that will assist the Pamoja Charity in ways far beyond Project Bed. And the list goes on… Sparing any more details, let’s just say that God has this “in the bag” (and pretty much everything else too).
So, where does Project Bed stand in terms of numbers?
20 sheet sets requested
15 sheet sets donated (to date)
5 sheet sets needed
Simply stated, we are in the home stretch.
If you feel led to give, all the details are here.
UPDATE (as of August 1): The 5 sheet sets needed have been filled. If you still feel led to give, please do so, and Pamoja Charity will use the money to continue to help the least of these.
P.S. For those that have already given, we (me, the boys, and everyone at Pamoja Charity) are grateful… Keep in the loop for a special post that I know will touch your heart.
